Asus was the first netbook manufacture to equip their Eee PC 1215B with AMD E450 processor and now MSI has has silently bumped up the specs of its popular Wind U270 netbook by offering giving it the same treatment.
While the AMD E350 was already a very powerful, the E450 offers 20 percent increase in performance which in our AMD E450 benchmark was not even noticeable. Nevertheless, you might be able to squeeze few more FPS in some games, thanks to the slightly better ATi Radeon HD 6320 GPU.
Other specifications have not undergone change when compared to the older version of MSI U270. You still get a 12.1 inch display, 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, 2GB DDR3 RAM (maximum RAM is 8GB), 2x USB 2.0 ports, one USB 3.0 port, 320GB hard disk, 801.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 and Ethernet port. You also get VGA and HDMI for outputting the display. The new MSI U270 weighs in at 2.9 pounds and comes with a 6 cell battery.
Update – HP is also offering a mini notebook with E450. It is called HP DM1 e450 (DM1 4010us review).
