Acer has launched Switch 10E in Japan, a hybrid tablet that can be connected to a keyboard dock, allowing user to use it as typical netbook. It will go on sale starting June 4 with a price tag of 55000 Japanese Yen. Acer Aspire Switch 10E specifications include Intel Atom Z3735F 1.83 GHz processor, windows 8.1 with Bing operating system, 2GB RAM, 64GB eMMC, 10.1 inch display packing 1280 x 800 pixel resolution.
Acer claims battery life about 12 hours. The keyboard dock packs a built in battery that further improves runtimes. It is also home to the 500GB hard disk.
Ports selection includes micro SD card reader, Micro USB 2.0, Micro HDMI output, IEEE 802.11b / g / n-enabled wireless LAN, Bluetooth 4.0,200 million pixels front / rear camera, headphone and microphone jack. There is a full size USB 2.0 port on the keyboard dock. Body size is about 262 × 180 × 10.95mm (width × depth × height) and weighs about 630 grams.
Acer promises free upgrade to windows 10 this summer.
