Sandisk corporation has launched 2.5 inch SATA SSD that consumes 25 percent less power than the original Sandisk Ultra I SSD. Sandisk Ultra II SSD specs include a TLC NAND chipset and comes in three models, 240GB / 480GB / 960GB. All offer sequential read up to 550MB / sec with 175 million hours as mean time between failures (MTBF). There is no word on its price in Japan.
Write speeds are pretty impressive too – 500MB/second that makes it ideal for graphic intensive applications and games that require instant and quick writes.
Sandisk Ultra II SSD comes equipped with Sandisk’s nCache 2.0 technology to enhance the durability. Warranty period is three years. It is quit, power saving and has native Command Queuing (NCQ) support, for efficient multitasking and load management.
Sandisk has equipped it with static and dynamic wear leveling for long life. Of course, standard features like TRIM Support and background garbage collection are also there. It measures 69.85Mm x 100.5Mm x 7.0 mm and 5 gRMS, 10 ~ 2000 Hz / 4.9 gRMS, 7 ~ 800 Hz vibration resistance (during operation / non operation).
