Sony has released an updated version of its Action Cam, HDF-AS30V and has introduced wearable live view remote. This second generation camera is 35 percent lighter than the first gen model, which makes it less cumbersome to carry around. You would not even feel that much if you are one of those who clip these things to a helmet.
Coming to the layout – not a great has changed here. You will find the usual USB, HDMI and line-in ports on the bottom and power and record button on the back. The rear panel gives you access to its micro SD card slot and battery compartment. It supports the new Live View remote, if you need the viewfinder.
There are stereo microphones on the Sony HDF-AS30V and it has fixed Carl Zeiss lens on the front with a massive 170 degree viewing angles. However, you will only get a 120 degree field with steady shot enabled. Other specs include backlit Exmor R CMOS censor, GPS and NFC. You can now capture full HD videos at 60 FPS, while the 720p videos can now be shot using slow motion videos. As an added feature, you can take 11.9 mega pixel pictures and shoot them at interval timings.
