Movavi is a video editing software for windows platforms. I was given an opportunity to give it a try and it worked fine for my usage. Here is a short review of it. The app is available for both windows and Mac platforms.
If you have a powerful processor, video conversion is very fast and if your notebook came with Nvidia graphics that supports CUDA technology, you will be able to get the conversion done even faster. Clearly, it is one of the best video converter apps out there.
I gave this app a go on my Sony Vaio Z 2011 series that comes with a GPU that supports CUDA technology and the conversion was blazing fast – much faster than the ones that do not utilize the GPU.
Supported formats – The Movavi video converter supports myriad of video formats which include AVI, MPEG, MP4, WMV, ASF, 3GP, 3GPP, MKV, MP3, MOV, QT, VOB, IFO, MOD, DAT, M2T, MTS, VRO and FLV, the format used by many video sites.
Supported devices – Apple iPad, iPod, iPhone, PSP, Nokia, BlackBerry, Android, Samsung Bada platform and so on. The company claims that it supports more than 200 devices.
Other nifty features –
- The Movavi video converter is capable of capturing still images from a video being played which is very useful for those who did not take pictures from a camera and recorded only video.
- Edit video – The application also lets you edit video. While the editing capabilities would not match apps like Vegas Pro, the app is good enough for adding watermark; performing cropping etc.
